The Iris exists as an independent literary magazine for writers and other types of creatives looking for a space to share their work. We accept submissions in all art forms, whether that be poetry, prose, ‘think-pieces’, journalism, short stories, graphic arts, comics, illustrations, photography, wearable art, or even perfectly curated playlists and mixtapes. As long as the work is personal and means something significant to its creator, it’s welcome at The Iris. We want to be a home for the writers and the creators. We want to create a safe space for the people. We want to create a community where people feel free, and comfortable to express themselves without needing to rely on large corporations, high-tech gear, or fancy contracts. We want to amplify the voice of the masses.

At The Iris, we believe that no topic is too sensitive, there is nothing we shy away from. Our content could range from emerging technologies and industrialization, war and corruption, interpersonal relationships, healing and trauma, generational discrimination, prejudice, predation, etc. We believe that the truth exists to be spoken and we want to curate a platform for your truth. In a world of censorship and self silencing driven by fear of reprisal, we want to be a platform that mobilizes and prioritizes the truth and validity of human experiences.
